What is my death book?

Here with my Dad as they read the Bible to him as he is dying and I am thinking, I need to make sure people know what book to read to me as I die.

But I am not sure what that book is. It’s not the Bible because I do not label myself as a Christian. I’ve studied Christianity, Hinduism, The Tao & Kabbalah so far.

The teachings of Jesus I find more in tune with Hinduism than Christianity. As he taught that we are one and to love thy neighbor as thyself.

I like the flow of The Tao. I gain a great feeling of understanding & compassion as I read the Tao.

I guess I believe that all “Gods” are an expression of the one. I learned this from Hinduism. I do not believe in separatism. I am not better than you, nor is my God better than yours. I believe, we are one. We may be on different sides, but it’s the same coin we’re on. I am learning as I grow older not to fight against people who have different views but to try to understand why they have those views and underneath are we really saying the same thing. I also ask myself what am I not seeing that is valid in their argument.

Kabbalah taught me that even the “Satan” was a good thing and was from God. We can learn through light or through lack of the light of God, our choice.

I have yet to study Sufism. Or maybe I should have someone read me The Tibetan Book of the Dead, which is meant specifically to help souls make the transition.

So I guess I don’t have a book yet. What is your book and why?
